Dear Family,
It was so good to see everyone at The Ranch for our family reunion. It was exciting to see the old place and think about our parents and grandparents and the lives they lived. We are grateful for our ancestors and the examples they set for us.
With that in mind, we wanted to put together a place that we could share information about our family. We each have different memories, and some have pictures they would like to share. We would like this blog to be an open forum where we can post pictures and stories and share with everyone the information that we have.
The hope is that we can compile the information into an interesting and usable family history. Jeanetta Thiriot Peterson, Alice Thiriot Waite and Amy Thiriot Sorensen met this last week and looked over pictures and started working on a plan to help this project get started. We know that we cannot complete it without the help of every family member. We decided to start with George William and Alvira Henrie Thiriot that we would get a life sketch of their lives and general timeline of where they lived and what they did. Pictures will be included, George William was quite the photographer. We will post pictures and encourage everyone who has additional pictures and stories to post them as well.
We are excited to get this project going.
Amy, when you post pictures you should make it so we can download and copy them to keep in our own records at home. The pictures below are wonderful, but I can't click on them to see them bigger. I really want to start collecting ancestor photos on the Thiriot side (Alice, I already told you this I think). Anyways, nice post!
ReplyDeleteAmy, Thanks for setting this up and getting us involved. I wish that Judie and I could have gone to the Thiriot Ranch, but we had committment that we needed to atttend. I look forward to seeing stuff and adding stuff about the family.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for setting this up for us, Amy. As soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll post some of the new pictures I found. Thank you also to Jim and Linda and Chris and Lynette for arranging the visit to the ranch and all the amenities. It was a very emotional visit for me and I felt so close to everyone as a family. Hope it will be unifying for all of us!
ReplyDeleteMelissa,The bottom picture is a gadget on the blog which makes it non downloadable, but all the post pictures you should be able to download. All the pictures on the bottom one, except two, are on the cd that we gave everyone and I would be happy to send you a copy or if you want the gadget I can send you an email copy of that as well, just let me know. Thanks, Amy
